Hearts of Gold Redbud

- Soil Requirements: Adaptable to different soil types. Can grow well in dry, clay, acidic, or alkaline soils. Prefers well drained soil.
- Appeal: The Hearts of Gold Redbud is known for its fantastic golden foliage color. It has the pink flower blooms that come in early spring but the foliage emerges red and quickly fades to golden yellow color at its maturity. The foliage will turn more green in shadier locations and fade to green/yellow color throughout the fall season before shedding its leaves for winter. The Heart of Gold cultivar also has the ability to produce flowers on just one year old stems which adds to its interest. Native, deer resistant and tolerant to juglone.
