Soil Requirements: Adaptable to different soil types. Can grow well in dry, clay, acidic, or alkaline soils. Prefers well drained soil.
Appeal: The Forest Pansy Redbud cultivar is prized for its maroon colored foliage and pink flower blooms on its bare branches in early spring before the foliage emerges. Its leaves are slightly heart shaped and mature to a deep maroon color throughout the spring which then fade into hues of reds and oranges by the fall season before shedding its leaves for winter. Native, deer resistant and tolerant to juglone.
