Othello Ligularia  (leopard plant)

Ligularia dentata ‘Othello’

  • Size: 2-3’ Tall and Wide
  • Growth Habit: clumping
  • Growth Rate: Moderate
  • Light Requirements: Shade to part shade
  • Soil Requirements: well draining moist soils
  • Appeal: Othello Ligularia is known for its large leaved foliage and its yellow/orange daisy like flowers. The foliage of Ligularia resembles that of lily pads you see in ponds or lakes. The leaves are large circular/heart shaped and remain lower to the ground in a clumping form. Othello Ligularia will develop its yellow/orange flowers on tall stalks that reach above the foliage. This is an interesting perennial to add to shaded areas, looks nice in mass plantings or as single accent plants.
