- Appeal: Phenomenal Lavender is an excellent lavender cultivar because of its cold hardiness, disease resistance, and heat/drought tolerance. Phenomenal Lavender can survive winter as long as it doesn’t get too wet. This cultivar is also more resistant to developing diseases than other lavenders and can handle periods of drought. Lavenders do not like to have wet feet or sit in poorly drained soil but they do love the sun. Phenomenal Lavender is beautiful with its grey/green foliage and nicely rounded habit of growth. It will produce its fragrant purple/blue colored flower blooms off spikes in summer and can re-bloom in the fall as well.
